London's Embankment Station is a busy station located in the City of Westminster. This station has been known by many different names in its history, and provides users with access to the Victoria Embankment, which forms part of the greater Thames Embankment. This area along the River Thames runs from the Palace of Westminster to Blackfriars Bridge. It can be accessed by both the Victoria Embankment and an entrance on nearby Villiers Street.

Embankment Station is served by multiple lines of the London Underground, also known as the Tube. 6 platforms service the Northern, Bakerloo, District, and Circle lines. Embankment station can also be accessed by bus services that run through the local area.

Originally opened in 1870, London Embankment station was first outfitted with sub-surface platforms. Due to the need for extra transport lines, a deep-level platform and train system was deployed in 1897, after Parliament lent its support for the project. Those trains did not officially begin operating until 1906.

This station is located within zone one of London. Nearby transportation spots of interest include Waterloo Station and Charing Cross. These stations can either be reached by taking one of the lines from the Embankment Station, or instead by walking to their respective locations.

In addition to nearby transport links, there are several iconic London landmarks that can be accessed by disembarking at the Embankment Station. These landmarks include Cleopatra's needle and the Royal Air Force Memorial. London's famed Savoy Hotel is also nearby.

There are a fair share of amenities that passengers can utilize at the station, including ticket halls and payphones. Help points are also located in the station, where workers provide guidance to those who may be unfamiliar with the surrounding area. ATMs are also located in the station, allowing those in need of cash to withdraw money at the facility. There are no elevators servicing the station, meaning those with a physical handicap may need to utilize other transportation services in the nearby area.

Embankment Station has seen a fair share of incidents during its long history, with accidents occurring from time to time within the tunnels. Nevertheless, it continues to remain in operation today, serving as a vital link within London's underground system. It is estimated that some 20 million passengers use the station each year.
